About the Creator
Born and raised in the Ottawa area, surrounded by nature, Michelle learned early on to look beyond the obvious, to explore beneath the surface. The natural world is deeply ingrained in her psyche as she seeks to interpret through her images the landscapes of everyday life. Michelle's work investigates the simplicity in nature through nuances of tones. She explores scenery as motif and abstract to make "intimate landscapes", exposing their subtle and unique patterns and textures. Through each image’s exposure, she expresses her spirit and energy while conveying the essence of her subject. Although Michelle experiments with a variety of art discipline, her main focus for the past nine years has been expressive photography. She has studied with contemporary masters of photography, including Freeman Patterson and André Gallant, and has shown in Canada and the United States. In 2010, she was selected as an Emerging Photographer by PhotoLife Magazine.
